Construction Laborer

The Employer clarifies that the Construction Laborers will assist experienced concrete finishers in the lesser duties associated with concrete construction by performing basic support tasks under direct supervision, including staging and transporting materials such as cement, aggregates, lumber, and reinforcement; helping set, hold, position, and strip simple wood or metal forms; placing wire mesh and basic reinforcement as directed; moving and rough-leveling concrete using hand tools and walk-behind vibrators; and performing simple excavation using shovels for trenches or footings. Perform basic demolition tasks such as removing non-structural materials (drywall, interior debris) and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas by removing debris, sweeping, and organizing materials. Operate simple tools and equipment such as wheelbarrows, shovels, hand tampers, and jackhammers as directed. Workers do not perform skilled carpentry, layout, or specialized concrete finishing. Prepare the site for placing of concrete by loading and unloading materials, running string-lines, cutting wood with skill saw, using a sledgehammer to pound stakes into the ground, digging and leveling the earth using shovels and platepackers. Assist with placing concrete by using wheelbarrows, concrete rakes and shovels. Assist experienced concrete finishers in the lesser duties associated with concrete construction. Clean up construction site.
