Fence Erector

Erect and repair fences and fence gates, using hand and power tools. Install residential and commercial fencing including chain link, vinyl, wood, ornamental steel, and aluminum fences. Laborers work in crews. Duties include loading and unloading of material necessary to erect fences and tools used for fence erection. Workers will assist with mixing of materials, assembly of fencing materials, cleaning worksites, and reloading of any equipment or fencing material. Workers must establish a safe and sturdy location for a fence, and gather information needed to ensure that there are no electric cables or water lines in the area. They will also measure and lay out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, drawings, or specifications and attach rails or tension wire along bottoms of posts to form fencing frames. Crews will be responsible for cleaning out used trucks each day, disposing of trash, organizing the tools and supplies, sorting fencing materials, moving new fencing orders, and sweeping the premises. Workers will clear brush or weeds in order to place fencing to customer request. Workers will also prepare items for transport or shipping.
