They will use large trays to carry plated meals into the restaurants for delivery and small trays for drink orders. They are also responsible for filling water glasses and generally helping the servers make sure all guest's needs are met. • Servers and server assistants will carry small trays of hors d'oeuvres around for guests to sample as they please during parties or events. Server assistants will also monitor and fill any stationary food offerings such as cheese boards, shrimp displays, etc. They will backfill condiments and food as needed, bring out more plates or napkins, etc. Server assistants may also carry large trays of plated meals for delivery during a banquet or event. • Server assistants will set tables for service including any plates, utensils, glasses, linens, etc. They may also assist with setting up buffet stations including chafing dishes, plates, utensils, condiments, and food. They will prepare dining rooms and event spaces for service by ensuring anything needed for dining is available and readily accessible.
