Food Preparation Worker

Assist chefs with food and drink preparation. Weigh or measure ingredients, such as meats and liquids. Prepare fruit and vegetables for cooking. Cut meats, poultry, and seafood and prepare them for cooking. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks with needed items. Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers. Arrange food for serving. Assemble and package meals for delivery. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, equipment and dishes. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas. Occasionally travel to fields within Santa Barbara County to assist in the delivery of meals to field workers. Night shift work is required. Training will be provided for 10 days from each worker’s initial date of employment. The employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper use and maintenance of tools, supplies, or equipment required in the performance of work. Workers will be paid no less than $19.18 per hour. Workers will be paid BI-WEEKLY by check.
