Construction Laborer

Duties include performing tasks involving physical labor at constructions sites such as: loading and unloading tools, preparing building site materials, stacking building materials, and setting up equipment; ensuring construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly; following project instructions from construction manager or supervisor; consulting construction plans; operating hand and power tools including, but not limited to, air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, saws, drills, surveying and measuring equipment, pressure washers, jackhammers, grinders, and blowtorches; ensuring proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn during work; assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures; measuring, marking, and recording distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed; preparing new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting areas of the ground; clean and clear debris and hazardous materials; controlling traffic near, in, or around work zones by setting up traffic control devices such as cones, drums, and signs; assisting other craft workers as needed; following all worksite health and safety regulations.
