(Job Duties) In carbon steel boat fabrication, the fabricator produces hulls, decks, frames, bulkheads, stiffeners, and supporting structures in accordance with engineering drawings, marine standards, and classification requirements. Work is performed with a strong focus on dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, corrosion resistance, and weld quality suitable for marine environments. (Type of Structures)The fabricator interprets fabrication drawings, prepares materials, performs fit-up and welding operations, and ensures all components meet project specifications and applicable codes such as AWS, ABS, or USCG standards. Quality control, safety compliance, and coordination with naval architects, engineers, and inspectors are integral parts of the fabrication process.
